DAYS

Since 1995, with the first launching of the EFC young leaders conference series in Singapore, this Asia-wide youth conference has served as an important meeting and opportunity for young leaders to be inspired, share, learn and be further prepared to engage in God’s work.

 

The theme of the upcoming conference, "Call to Liberate", has a focus on empowering the younger generation to take up their calling of sharing and living the gospel with their community. By first reminding young leaders that they are liberated people (liberated and saved by Jesus Christ), the aim of the conference is to encourage them to understand their mandate as liberated people to take up their calling to 'liberate' those around them (by sharing the gospel). In so doing, the conference also aims to equip young leaders with tools and inspiration to share the gospel, as well as introduce channels for young leaders to engage the community through.

Day 1 - Oct 16 : We are liberated people

• The first day will begin with an evening session to kick-start the four-day conference.

 

Day 2 - Oct 17 : We are called to liberate those around us

• An Outreach Ministry session will be included on this day, whereby conference attendees will have the opportunity to engage in local outreach work to serve various target groups.

 

Day 3 - Oct 18 : How we can liberate others?

• On the third day, conference attendees will join workshops to learn about relevant topics on youth and skills to better equip them to share the gospel in our world today. We already have a range of topics and local speakers lined up, including urban ministry, political studies versus theology, LGBT, human trafficking, Science and Christianity, Media, as well as Culture & Christian Response, among others. Each attendee will have the opportunity to join 2-3 Workshops.

• In the evening, an evangelistic event will be held. The event is intended to attract both conference attendees, as well as non-conference attendees. Apart from a strong evangelistic message on this 3rd evening, we will be hosting a dance gala. Each EFC Partner is encouraged to identify and recruit a team of dancers to represent each region. A panel of Christian celebrity judges will be invited to participate, provide constructive feedback to dance teams, as well as facilitate an entertaining atmosphere for the evening.

 

Day 4 - Oct 19 : We are called to liberate together

• The last day of the conference is intended to remind youth leaders that the EFC and Christian community is one body - acting in sync and partnership to spread the gospel together. The day will be wrapped up with a send-off activity and prayer session.

 

At the end of the conference, there is an optional  "Home-stay Program" that will be held for two additional days on 19th-21st October, for those who are interested in exploring our city and experiencing Hong Kong’s pace of life with our local Christian hosts.
